    Description: Coffee Concert

Under the baton of our musical director,
Gregory Moor, we embark on another musical adventure!

Starting traditionally with Mother Goose, a playful march by Sousa, we get our skates on for a selection from Starlight Express, our nod to a Great British transport bicentenary.

After the energetic start to our concert, we drift into a turbulent night’s sleep with
Lucid Dreams. This original concert band piece, by American composer Adrian B Sims, pulls the listener into an imaginary musical dreamscape where hallucinations and reality swirl together at the boundary between sleep and conscious. Then we are off on our travels again, with some highlights from South Pacific followed by the classic 1970s TV theme to Hawaii-five-O.

The pace then slows briefly, with a celebration of French village life in
Aunis et Saintonge en Fete, before we turn up the heat and step back into the 1970s with a Bee Gees medley from Saturday Night Fever. If you’ve brought your dancing shoes, feel free to brush off your inner disco diva; white suits and open shirts entirely optional! Then there’s one last treat in store with our rollicking fantasy finale, when we show you How to Train Your Dragon!

The doors open early, at 10:30, to give you a chance to grab a drink and sample our lovely home baking. As part of the Ilkley Live event, the concert is
free, however for those who would like to make a donation, we will be collecting on behalf of our charity for the year, The Swan Song Project. This small Leeds based charity gives people planning the end stages of their lives and those surrounding them the opportunity to write and record their own original song. This musical celebration of life brings comfort and joy, leaving a legacy that helps loved-ones as they deal with bereavement. For more information please visit their website: https://swansongproject.co.uk/about/

If you have never heard us before, this is a great chance to give us a listen for free. If you enjoy the event, you can even join our emailing list so that you get notification of our future concerts. We look forward to welcoming our friends, old and new, to the concert.
